The short answer
What kind of restaurant is this, exactly?
The honest label is "a brunch restaurant that grew a full Thai kitchen" — and in Ao Nang that turns out to be a useful thing to be. Mornings here look like sourdough toasts, breakfast sets and smoothie bowls; by midday the woks take over with pad kra pao, green curry and tom yum kung; and any hour is the right hour for mango sticky rice or the golden egg-yolk sweets that gave the cafe its name.
We opened in 2020 — twin sisters from Isan, starting with a tiny counter mid-pandemic — and built the menu dish by dish through the quiet years. Nothing on it is there to pad the laminate: 151 dishes and drinks, prepared to order or poured in-house, with 91+ vegetarian choices. Prices sit where a holiday shouldn't hurt — most plates land between 129฿ and 279฿, and a proper meal for two runs around 400–800฿.
The room
A water table, a fish pond, and no one hurrying you
The thing first-time guests photograph isn't on a plate. Our long stone table has water running down its centre into a fish pond, and the room around it stays light and minimalist — half indoors, half garden, with the bay close enough for a slow look between courses. Reviewers keep landing on the same phrase for it: a calm oasis, two minutes off the main road but a world quieter.
It changes how people use us. Some come for a twenty-minute breakfast before a boat; plenty order a coffee, then lunch, then dessert, and quietly cancel their afternoon plans. Both are correct.

Straight talk
When to come — and when we're honestly not your place
We serve from 8:00 to 18:00, every day of the week, and the whole menu runs all day — pancakes at four in the afternoon are a respected local tradition. Come at opening for the calmest table, mid-morning for the full brunch hum, or 4:30–5:00 when the light goes soft and gold over the bay. No bookings, no minimum, just walk in; even at peak the wait is usually minutes.
What we are not is a dinner spot. When the kitchen closes at 18:00, the Ao Nang Landmark night market lights up literally next door — so the honest local move is: long brunch or late lunch with us, night market or the beachfront for the evening. If you're weighing up the wider scene first, our own unvarnished guide to where to eat in Ao Nang covers how the area works, night stalls included.
Who's cooking
Twin sisters, one standard: read every review, fix what it says
The two faces you'll likely see at the door are the owners — twins from Isan, in Thailand's northeast, who opened this place in 2020 and still treat it like the small cafe it started as. The signature coffees and dessert recipes were developed personally, during covid seasons when time was the only ingredient in surplus.
The habit that stuck from those years: every review gets read, weekly, by the sisters themselves. It's why the service keeps its 4.7★ average across 1,000+ Google reviews, a 5.0 on Tripadvisor, and why Restaurant Guru named us #1 Café in Ao Nang in 2023. We'd rather earn the next thousand the same slow way.
