Bread first

The bread does the heavy lifting

A sandwich is only as good as its bread, and ours comes from a local artisan baker: proper sourdough with a real crust and an open crumb, plus ciabatta for the softer builds. We grill and press to order, so the cheese is molten and the crust crackles when it lands.

It's the same sourdough behind our egg toasts and breakfast plates — if mornings are your thing, that story continues on the breakfast page.

To go

Built for the beach and the boat

A pressed panini is the best travel food we make: the grilling seals it, so it survives a beach bag far better than anything with loose bread. Nopparat Thara Beach is a five-minute walk away, and boats to Railay and the islands leave from Nopparat Thara Pier, 15–20 minutes on foot — order takeaway and you're provisioned for the day.

Eating in is just as easy: garden seating, a view toward the bay, and parking on site inside Ao Nang Landmark. Directions are on the find us page, and the rest of the midday menu — salads, spaghetti, Thai plates — is over on lunch in Ao Nang.

A field guide

Panini, sourdough sandwich or wrap?

Three formats, three jobs. The ciabatta paninis (249–279฿) are the melters — softer bread pressed hot, best when cheese is the point, and four of the five are vegetarian. The sourdough sandwiches (269–289฿) are the big, structured builds — chicken bacon, tuna pesto — on the tangier, sturdier loaf, for when a sandwich is the whole meal. And the wraps (219฿, chicken avocado or scrambled-eggs feta) are the one-handed option: lighter, tidier, and the correct call if you're eating on the move between beach and boat.

If you're navigating the menu by bread, look for the sourdough filter on our menu page — it pulls every sourdough-based dish into one view, toasts included. And for the toast half of the sourdough story — eggs, avocado, salmon on the same loaf, from 179฿ — head one page over to sourdough in Ao Nang.

Good to know

Quick answers

Where can I get a good sandwich in Ao Nang?

Thongyib Thongyod Brunch & Cafe, inside Ao Nang Landmark in Khlong Haeng, grills ciabatta paninis and sourdough sandwiches to order every day from 8:00 to 18:00. The bread is artisan sourdough from a local baker, and the cafe holds 4.7★ across 1,000+ reviews.

Do you bake the sourdough yourselves?

No — and that's deliberate. Thongyib Thongyod's sourdough comes from an artisan local baker we've worked with rather than a factory loaf, and it's the base for our sandwiches and toasts alike.

Can I get a sandwich to take to the beach or a boat trip?

Yes — everything is available takeaway, and pressed paninis travel especially well. Thongyib Thongyod is a 5-minute walk from Nopparat Thara Beach and 15–20 minutes on foot from Nopparat Thara Pier, so it's a natural provisioning stop.

Are there vegetarian sandwiches?

Plenty — at Thongyib Thongyod the caprese, mushroom cheese, spinach cheese and double cheese paninis are all vegetarian. They're part of the 91+ vegetarian dishes and drinks across the menu.

How much do sandwiches cost in Ao Nang?

At Thongyib Thongyod, grilled ciabatta paninis run 249–279฿ and pressed sourdough sandwiches 269–289฿ — each one made to order on artisan sourdough.

What's the difference between your paninis and sourdough sandwiches?

The bread and the build. Paninis use softer ciabatta pressed hot — the melty, cheese-forward option. Sourdough sandwiches use the tangier artisan loaf and carry bigger fillings like chicken bacon or tuna pesto. Wraps (219฿) are the lighter, one-handed third option.
