Croffles in Krabi: when a croissant meets a waffle

A croffle combines the form of a croissant with the grid shape associated with a waffle. The current menu describes the Oreo version as crispy and lists a different topping combination for each of the four choices.

Oreo (169฿) includes Oreo ice cream and whipped cream; Mango (159฿) lists fresh berries and syrup; Banana Choco (149฿) lists banana, chocolate and strawberries; Nutty Choco (149฿) lists chocolate and sliced almonds. The wider brunch menu is published separately.

The three get confused, so here's the clean split. A croissant is laminated dough baked free-form — all flake, no grid. A waffle is a pourable batter set in an iron — all grid, no layers. The croffle cheats: croissant dough pressed in the waffle iron, so the butter layers survive while the iron caramelises the outside into deep pockets that hold toppings the way a croissant never could. You get the crunch of a waffle's ridges with the pull of a croissant's crumb.
