What does breakfast look like in Ao Nang?

When should you eat if you have an island tour?

Work backwards from your pickup time, and be realistic. Most four-islands and Hong-islands tours collect guests between 7:30 and 8:30, which leaves three workable plans. Is the Krabi Town morning market worth it for breakfast?

Yes — it’s the most local meal you can eat in the province, and it costs pocket change. Krabi Town’s morning market gets going around 6:00 and winds down by 10:00, and inside you’ll find the true Thai breakfast canon: jok (rice porridge with pork and a just-set egg), khao tom (lighter rice soup), grilled pork skewers with sticky rice, patongo (fried dough sticks) dunked in pandan custard, and coffee brewed strong and poured over condensed milk. The catch is geography. Krabi Town sits about twenty kilometres from Ao Nang — twenty to thirty minutes by songthaew (the white shared trucks, around 50฿) or taxi.
